The Greek Gift (Bxh7+) is one of the most devastating attacking patterns in chess. In the Colle System, this sacrifice frequently occurs right after White achieves the central e3 to e4 pawn break, blowing open the diagonal for White’s light-squared bishop.
However, sacrificing a piece isn't a gamble—it is a forced mathematical sequence. Before you pull the trigger, run through this 4-Point Pre-Flight Check. If all four conditions are met, the attack is almost always winning.
